This lawyer could not stop feeling thankful after she underwent a surgery where she finally gets back a normal face.
This 30-year-old lawyer, Slovakian Ivanka Danisová is ecstatic after she is able to eat and hear like a normal person as she was not able to do so due to her rare genetically conditioned face.
She was born with a Goldenhar’s syndrome, which means the bones on her right side of the face were immature and she was not able to hear or chew since her birth. This is her most recent picture.
This woman is a triplet and the first ever woman in US to go through this big complicated surgery.
Her abnormalities are on the side of her face which is due to her Goldenhar syndrome.
She is collecting funds from the website www.GoFundMe.com, where she mentions that:
Her craniofacial surgery is not just a medical treatment for her but also a fight within herself, and so far, she has won all of them. She feels special to have all the features and bones in her face for the first time.
Ivanka Danisova, 30, hopes to complete her surgery in Chicago this summer
She lost both her parents and is also battling against leukemia and is also a lawyer by profession.
She, along with her siblings, is fighting for her disease with a slogan of “rainbow for Ivanka”.
She was also a victim of cyber and real-life bullying. And now, she is urging others to raise an awareness by hiding half of their faces with their hands and take a picture of themselves.
The purpose of doing that is to tell everyone that people with this disease wish to remove their hands from their faces instead of hiding them.
She is furious that this challenging disease is still seen as unacceptable or a taboo in the society.
This is Ivanka in her hospital to get her surgery done.
The middle triplet child is Ivanka, with her underdeveloped cranial bones.
She is now raising funds up till $40,000 to get done with her last surgery this summer.
