Missing Woman’s Remains Discovered In Wall Of Her Home Three Years Later

Woman's body discovered in her home but, what possibly made her disappear at the first place.

Just recently, Police in Texas discovered remains of a missing woman inside the walls of her home. The woman went missing in 2015. According to the investigation reports, the 61 years old woman, Mary Cerruti fell through a loose floor board in the attic of her home in Texas. No one heard of her until her remains were discovered by the new residents of the house.

When Cerruti disappeared in 1015, the neighbors noticed the piling up of the mails in her mail box. The police were called to check up but, they discovered nothing except for the mystery that the woman just went missing out of the blue.

According to the investigation reports, the woman fell through a loose floor board in the attic of her house and stuck between 2 walls. The woman did not have a family or any close relative so it took some time before her disappearance was noticed.

The medical examiner, Tricia Bentley told, “In the attic, there was a broken board that led down to the space. Law enforcement thinks she may have been up in the attic and fell through the attic floor. It is a one story home with an attic so she was found on the first floor. There was some space between the walls where a person could fit.”

The remains of Cerruti, including her clothing, pieces of bones and a pair of glasses were discovered by the new tenants of the house.

Due to the delay in the discovery of the body, it’s becoming hard to recognize the cause of death. Bentley says, “The cause of death is listed as undetermined because the remains were skeletonized. There is no evidence to say how exactly she died.”

It was not only her remains that was discovered, the police also found 6 dead cats that are believed to be stray cats.

As for the cause of death, her neighbor Roxanne Davis says, “The gap in the boards appears to be maybe eight inches, and Mary was certainly very frail, but it’s hard for me to believe that a person could step on a board, and their entire body would go down a crack that is two inches wider than a dollar bill.”

Cerruti was known to be the kind of person who would stand up against wrong. Her neighbors tell hat she would fight for the neighborhood and resisted against new developments. Davis says, “She definitely did not like the apartments being built around her. For her, it was an invasion of her space, her privacy. It’s sad that she came to an ending like that.”

Davis adds, “There were a couple hundred pairs of eyes on her house at all times, and anybody could look down and see that she was alone, she was elderly, she was frail and she was vulnerable, flat-out vulnerable.”

Despite the absurdity of the tragic death of Cerruti, the investigators simply declared it to be a tragic incident. The detective Jason Fay concludes, “It would be a stretch in this case because at the end of the day no one bought the house. If this really was that kind of idea of let’s get rid of her, you would think that someone would have bought the property and tried to demolish it. Instead someone bought it and tried to rent it.”

Fishy Davis, however, finds it hard to digest and suggests further investigation. She says, “They need to do some more investigation. They have some explaining to do.”
